Shaun Kingsbury CBE
Chairman

Shaun Kingsbury was the first CEO of the UK Green Investment Bank plc, the world’s first green investment bank. Shaun established the bank in 2012 with the backing of the UK Government and it quickly became the leading investor in renewable energy in the UK financing over £12 billion of clean energy projects. The bank was successfully privatised through a sales process in 2017.

Prior to establishing GIB, Shaun was responsible for leading the European activities at Hudson Clean Energy Partners and prior to that held senior positions at both Shell and Centrica. Shaun holds a number of advisory, non-exec director and chair roles in the green mobility, clean energy and green finance sectors and has been a leading investor in sustainable companies for many years. Shaun holds a BA (hons) in Business Studies from Ulster University.



Bob Psaradellis
President and CEO

Bob Psaradellis was a Senior Advisor to CPP Investments’ Power & Renewables (P&R) group from November 2019 until Renewable Power Capital was established, supporting P&R in developing and executing investment theses across Europe.  Bob was formerly GE Energy Financial Services’ Head of Europe and has successfully closed equity investments in energy assets with over €5 billion in enterprise value.  In addition, Bob created and led Global Capital Advisory at GE, raising over $14 billion in third-party equity and debt for GE’s power, renewables, oil & gas, aviation and healthcare projects globally.

Prior to GE, Bob was with Mitsubishi Corporation’s Environment & Water business unit, responsible for project financing, technology investments, trading partnerships and joint ventures.  Bob holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University, where he also played American football, winning an Ivy League championship and the Henry N. Lamar Award for “dedication, leadership, and concern for his fellow man”.



Mark Hanson
General Counsel and Chief Operations Officer

Mark Hanson is a highly skilled commercial lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in structuring, negotiating and advising on investments, predominantly in the energy sector.  Mark spent 10 years as European Counsel for GE Energy Financial Services leading all investments in Europe as well as in Asia before taking over as Senior Global Counsel at GE EFS.  He has considerable experience in closing deals across a range of technology types in the energy sector and has closed a significant number of deals in Europe as well as in LATAM, MENAT, Asia and Australasia with values well in excess of €5 billion. Mark is skilled in managing and negotiating complex transactions and is recognised for having a focussed and commercial approach to deals.

Prior to GE, Mark spent 10 years as a private practice lawyer in the City (including with a Magic Circle law firm) focussing on finance, projects and M&A.  Mark holds a BA Hons degree in Law and Business from Oxford Brookes University. 



Mariano Berges
Senior Advisor

Prior to the founding of Renewable Power Capital, Mariano Berges was one of the founding members, acting as Chief Technical Officer and Chief Commercial Officer, in Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV). He led all FRV’s engineering activities, EPC negotiations, construction, procurement, O&M and asset management, quality, IT, origination, PPA, markets and strategy activities within the company worldwide. He also created FRV-X, a division within FRV focused on storage, digitalization and analysis of new business models. He has built more than 2GW of PV projects across the globe, negotiated EPC and supply contracts for more than US$4 billion and created from scratch all the technical and commercial department organization. He started his career as Project Director within the Ticket Department of Indra Sistemas, working with Spanish main public transport companies (i.e. RENFE, EMT and METRO). Afterwards, he was Project Director within the Renewable Energies department of Socoin (Unión Fenosa) being responsible for the construction of wind farms, as well as the solar energy area development. Mariano Berges holds an Industrial Engineer bachelor from Alfonso X University in Madrid and a Renewable Energies Master from Zaragoza University and AMP from IESE.



Steve Hunter
Power Markets Director

Prior to the founding of Renewable Power Capital, Steve Hunter led the European development team for GE and built their capability to originate, structure and negotiate PPAs across Europe. While at GE, Steve negotiated PPAs supporting over 1GW of new projects including the world’s largest Corporate PPA and contracts with a number of blue chip offtakers. Steve was also responsible for the successful development of over 2GW of onshore wind projects in multiple European markets.

Before GE, Steve was head of investments at Low Carbon and has worked in technical, development and investment roles at a number of multinational developers, IPP’s & OEMs, including AES, Invenergy and Rolls-Royce.  Steve holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.



Daniel Szentirmai
Principal

Daniel Szentirmai is a Principal of Renewable Power Capital Ltd. Daniel is responsible for leading the origination, acquisition and asset management of renewable power projects in Northern Europe. Daniel has almost 10 years of relevant industry experience and was a Vice President at GE Energy Financial Services prior to joining RPC, where he led a team of investment professionals on the acquisition and sale of GE EFS’ equity investments. His track record spans across Europe, MENAT and LATAM with 2.5GWs of renewable energy and infrastructure transactions closed worth over €4 billion in combined enterprise value. 

Daniel started his career as a Quantitative Portfolio Analyst within GE Capital’s Risk Management Program in London, from where he moved to Abu Dhabi (UAE) to join Mubadala GE PJSC’s regional leveraged finance business, where he supported Mubadala’s regional thermal power investments. Daniel holds a Masters awarded with Distinction in Comparative Business Economics from University College London, and a Summa Cum Laude BA degree from Corvinus University Budapest, Hungary.



Jahneata Robertson
Financial Planning & Analysis Leader

Jahneata is a highly skilled Chartered Accountant and technology professional with over 15 years’ experience in financial modelling, data analytics and advising clients who are predominantly in the financial services sector. Jahneata has spent 10 years at KPMG as a consultant in the Financial Modelling and Analytics function. In that role, she leveraged core skills in Technology, Finance and Accounting to deliver innovative solutions and valuable data led insights for clients. Jahneata has considerable experience leading teams, driving strategic change and improving financial efficiency and performance. 

Jahneata started her career at a Big 4 firm in the Audit function working with clients who were predominantly in construction, transport and energy sectors. Jahneata subsequently moved to Man Group plc, working in investment management, financial reporting and fund valuation functions. Jahneata holds a BSc Hons degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from University College London and is a fellow of the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).



Will Johnston
Associate

Will Johnston is an Associate at Renewable Power Capital Ltd with responsibility for assisting in the origination, acquisition and asset management of renewable power projects across Europe. Prior to joining RPC, Will spent almost 4 years with Macquarie Capital in the Green Investment Group (GIG), starting as a summer intern and being promoted through Analyst to Associate. During this time he contributed to a diverse range of transactions spanning onshore and offshore wind, solar and waste-to-energy projects, including a number of high-profile acquisitions and syndications in the UK, Sweden, Poland, Ireland and Germany on assets totalling almost 5GW.

He holds a Masters in Management degree from London Business School (class of 2016) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of St Andrews (class of 2015). Will is also a former elite level triathlete who represented Great Britain at junior level.
